匠 (Tá-k(ú)-mí) Master Artisan

Marcio brings to the team expertise across Application Security and Red Teaming. He has a Masters in Computer Science with a specialisation in Application Security and Cryptography. This academic background is complimented by a passion for testing the limits of hardware and software, something Marcio has been doing for most of his life.

Marcio has presented at industry leading events and delivered projects across penetration testing, code reviews, exploit development, secure development, automation of red team environments, DevSecOps and Red Team operations. This spreads across all major industries from critical infrastructure, telecommunications, technology, finance and government.

Marcio co-founded TantoSec because he saw an opportunity in the market for a high quality security consultancy where he could help our customers utilise the skillset he has built over the last few decades to improve their security. Marcio is responsible for ensuring quality of our services is maintained and managing the innovation within the group.

Aside from being passionate about hacking things, he is also a gamer, guitarist and loves chess.

Marco has been working in information security for over ten years. He has worked with customers from large to small and projects of all descriptions. Whether it is a small once off annual pen test or designing, implementing and maintaining of an annual program of works encompassing multiple multiple services.

The years of being involved in the security community has been incredibly rewarding and the desire to build a better and fairer security consultancy led to the co-founding of TantoSec. Marco’s responsibilities here include commercial and customer management.

Aside from trying to keep up with the ever evolving security landscape Marco still tries to play football in his spare time. By football, he means soccer.
